Youth Week Activities
National Youth Week is May 1 – 7 every year, it is a week dedicated to the celebration of youth and their active participation in their community. So… starting May 1st we are celebrating YOUth! It’s also a chance for our community to host events that support the principles of intentional youth development. Check out what’s happening in Guelph and Wellington County!
There are lots of great events to choose from, like drop-in basketball, laughter yoga, Minecraft Madness and even Quidditch for all you Harry Potter fanatics. And, did you know that the hours you spend participating in these events can count towards your 40 hour community service requirement for high school? Pretty awesome, right?! It’s just one more great reason to get involved.
At the Volunteer Centre we will be honouring youth who volunteer with a ChangeTheWorld: Ontario Youth Volunteer Challenge certificate and counting your contributions towards the challenge. Read more about that here and let us know what great activities you have been up to between May 1st – 7th.
To all the YOUth – thank you for helping contribute to our vibrant community. Whether it is recreation, drama, sport, dance, civic engagement, art, volunteerism or leadership, every day you are involved in meaningful activities during your free time. Keep on sharing your passion and enthusiasm – you rock!
