Youth Give Back!

For this year’s Giving Tuesday, we are honouring some of the youth who gave back this summer through our Youth Engagement Project which PIN facilitated. The Youth Engagement Project took place over the summer and fall and aimed to engage youth and support them to to obtain Community Involvement hours.

This project was funded with thanks to the City of Guelph through the Emergency Grant.  

The Youth Engagement Project provided youth with the opportunity to work with PIN through curated volunteer opportunities DIY Volunteer Opportunities and a Virtual Youth Summit.  

Throughout the Youth Engagement Project, youth participated in some great activities such as:

As a final part of the Youth Engagement Project, PIN hosted a Virtual Youth Summit on November 24th. The summit it provided youth with the opportunity to learn about volunteering in our community, the benefits of volunteering and how they can “give back and create change.”

Special Guests included Kween from The Kween Company, Helen Keen and Naomi Fernandes from Experiential Learning Hub at the University of Guelph and Jenn Bucci along with 2 youth from the Guelph Youth Council. All youth received 2 Community Involvement hours for the participation and prize packs and gift cards with drawn throughout the Summit.  

Participants had this to say about the Summit:

“What a wonderful event on Wednesday, I am so impressed with the turn out – you did a great job organizing and leading, kudos” -Special Guest. 

“Thanks so much for including us! We had a great time and even got 2 participants interested in GYC (Guelph Youth Council)” -Special Guest
