Benefits of Membership

Volunteer Recruitment
We believe that everyone has something to contribute to our community and we seek to inspire volunteerism.
As a member, you can promote your volunteer opportunities and increase the profile of your organization through unlimited postings on our website’s online database. Our database offers volunteer seekers key search options in addition to the ability to create catered personal profile for self-seeking volunteer matches.
99% of potential volunteers said they would recommend our services
We also recruit volunteers through our weekly subscriber listing, social media and radio recruitment ads with Magic FM, CJOY and The River. We actively welcome outreach opportunities to connect with our community to share the benefits of volunteering and the opportunities to get involved.
Volunteer Referral
Our trained staff and volunteers promote the skills, knowledge and experience you are looking for to find the volunteers you need to do your mission-driven work. By phone, email, in-person/virtual connections and our volunteer opportunity database, PIN directs individuals to your volunteer postings.
Volunteer Screening
Improve your volunteer screening policies and practices through participating in BestMatch. BestMatch (formerly Best Practices in Volunteer Screening Program) aims to ensure appropriate volunteer screening policies and practices are in place in organizations that serve vulnerable populations. The Program provides education and one-on-one support to local community benefit organizations about the appropriate use of volunteer screening tools.
Volunteer Recognition
Say thanks to volunteers during National Volunteer week with our Caring Community Card, or nominate a volunteer for the Volunteer Recognition Blog, web and social media feature.
Professional Development
Through our Nonprofit Leadership pillar of work, the PIN Learning Space offers an online portal of education and resources in volunteer screening as example and will continue to grow content for volunteers, leaders of volunteers, executive directors and boards of directors. A number of these modules are for members only.
PIN offers workshops including custom opportunities. Connect with [email protected] to explore.
We also offer training opportunities through our collaborative partnership with the Volunteer Action Centre Waterloo Region. Member organizations receive $15 off workshops through the Waterloo-Wellington Learning Alliance.
