Kathryn wants to continue ‘paying it foward’

What does volunteering mean to me? Compassion. Sharing. Meeting new people. Giving back. I’ve been on the receiving end of caring volunteers who helped me when I needed it most. By giving my time to help others I’m able to ‘pay it forward’ – and I want to continue ‘paying it forward’ for as long as I can.
Currently I’m volunteering with the Special Olympics through my employer, DENSO, which is a strong supporter of giving back to the community. Specifically, I’m part of the Special Olympics Committee to plan fundraising activities and encourage participation in events.
Through DENSO’s Charity Recognition Program, associates who volunteer their time at a registered charity are rewarded by DENSO’s donating to that charity. From painting walls at United Way-supported organizations to delivering lunch to needy students, DENSO takes pride in and supports their employees’ volunteer efforts. DENSO has organized food and school supply drives and most recently has been involved with the Live Free Campaign where associates enjoyed serving breakfast to students who might otherwise be hungry in school.
I work at a fantastic organization that supports our incredible community. I’m so proud to be part of both.
