A Win For Volunteerism!

On behalf of volunteerism and the community benefit sector, PIN delegated to Guelph City Council on November 18 for one-time funding for 2022 to cover the costs of police records checks for all volunteers in Guelph. City Council approved the motion to cover the costs for police records checks up to $120,000.

“This will be welcome news for the community and community benefit sector. Reducing barriers to volunteerism is important and creates an equitable opportunity for individuals to contribute” says Kim Cusimano, Executive Director, “Police Records Checks are 1 of the 10 steps of volunteer screening. Building a fulsome screening practice is vital; PIN is the local leading source on volunteer screening through online learning, live sessions and consultation.”

PIN believes that everyone has the ability to contribute in a way that is meaningful; we connect people, ideas and information to empower nonprofit organizations and community members to grow and prosper.

The road to recovery includes volunteerism. Many thanks to City Council for their support.
