2022 Flash Community Benefit Sector Survey

Since 2020, PIN has led a Community Benefit Sector survey to understand the local landscape of volunteerism and the nonprofit/charitable sector. 

This Spring, PIN led a FLASH survey, to learn more about the realities and the needs:

• 65.5% of respondents indicated the decline in volunteers has affected their ability to deliver programs/services
• Respondents indicated a 65% drop in the larger volumes of volunteers.
• Positive sign to see 21.7% increase in volunteers contacting the organization to volunteer however the trend noted in the decrease of volunteers (39%) contacting is significant.

Organizations indicated focus on planning to re-engage volunteers and shared with PIN further areas that are top of mind – interest in collaborative initiatives and services, advocacy and board recruitment and training. 

PIN will continue to launch an annual survey; watch for the next survey in the Fall 2022.
